New Moon in Cancer - July 11, 2010

Current Moon Activity:

New Moon – July 11 – 12:40 pm PDT **Solar Eclipse

Next Full Moon - July 25 - 6:37 pm PDT

Next New Moon - August 9 - 8:08 pm PDT

Happy New Moon in Cancer Everyone!

As some of you are aware, this New Moon is also a Solar Eclipse and takes place at 19 Cancer 24. Interestingly, it occurred right in the middle of the World Cup soccer game, which has successfully absorbed the attention and stresses of the world and brought us all a little closer for the past month. I will tell you more about the particulars of this eclipse a few paragraphs below, here is the
Solar Eclipse Chart for anyone interested in having a look. I offered some insight on it generally and specifically for each sign in my July 2 and 9 Weekly Horoscopes which you can easily access in Updates on my website. The basic good news is that this eclipse is quite a gentle, benign and positive one. However, since a Solar Eclipse is like a super charged New Moon, it can still have a powerful and moving affect until the next Solar Eclipse in about 6 months. (All links lead to charts and articles!)
On the bottom of this newsletter, you can also see a list of the most important aspects and their basic themes set to occur this lunar cycle – they are major ones indeed and there are a lot of them! As most of you are aware, I elaborate on a weekly basis in my Horoscope column. You can also catch me live on Blogtalk Radio by following the link at the top right of this page every Thursday at 1 pm pacific time. It may also be worthwhile and interesting to look back at the Horoscope for this Year on the home page of my site.

Aside from the current yearly Horoscope on the home page of my site, you can read your yearly scopes all the way back to 2005 in the Library of my site in Horoscope Related Articles. You can also read a wide array of other articles in the Library of that speak directly to and around these current and exciting, if dramatic, times. You should recognize trends and themes unfolding in your life and I am available for personal readings over the phone or in person which are recorded for you if you would like more insight and understanding of your core life themes and current cycles.

The eclipse is not the only exciting news for this lunar cycle before the next New Moon in Leo in 29.5 days. The other big news includes Saturn re-entering Libra on July 21st and then Saturn forming the last of 5 Opposition aspects with Uranus on July 26. How any person or place or institution will be affected by these powerful aspects is relative depending on when they were “born”. Follow this link to learn more about the basic Science of Cycles and how they variously affect us. Yes, these are dynamic and exciting times indeed and potentially stressful too. This is where Astrology and its focus upon the science of cycles and the psychological and spiritual implications of our individual and collective evolution in connection to the many cycles of life, can and does play a significant role in helping people to be more in-tune and aware for making important decisions, for awareness and for peace of mind based on clarity of understanding. Of course, the perspective offered here is generic and the counter-balance perspective is gained from a closer appreciation of one’s own personal Astrology chart and unfolding cycles or that of a specific place.

So, the big news is that the powerful planetary aspects now in focus are occurring in initiation and action-oriented Cardinal Signs. Further, with Pluto also in Cardinal Capricorn we are seeing the activation of change at many levels – Capricorn governs the structure of any organization and Pluto is about transformation. Between now and when Saturn makes its final Square Aspect to Pluto on August 21 2010, we will witness some major turning points at official levels, for better and worse. (Go here to learn more about the details and implications of Pluto in Capricorn - 2008-2023).

Yet, it is the dynamic interaction of planets that tells the deeper story, and with a host of planets in hard aspect in Cardinal Signs now and over the course of the next five years, we are certainly experiencing what will prove to be an obvious and measurable evolutionary shift of modern civilization. The 2012 era which began in 1980 will come to its completion at the end of this 5 year cycle (2015-16) and is poised to culminate, at least symbolically on 12/21/2012. Yet, it is these lead-up years and the few that follow that are at least as important. The changes occurring now are some of the signs.

Looking to 12/21/2012 for some particular event on that day represents a narrow and sensational perspective. The better attitude is to tune-in to the hope and promise of a new 5125 year cycle - 1/5th of the 26,000 year precessional cycle. Many Mayan elders even say it is the beginning of a whole new precessional round. There is some debate and there are various perspectives about this end date, but all agree we are very much at the inception of this new epochal cycle. 12/21/2012 is the popular date around the world and it presents a grand opportunity to share a collective focus or intention, prayer, ceremony anhd at least recognition and hope of global unity, peace, cooperation, health and prosperity for all. Looking to events and outcomes is of the intellect/mind and ego and setting intentions with understanding that we are co-creators with life is of the heart and soul. These words are not mere idyllic poetry they represent scientific, psychological and spiritual fact. That Astrology works and how and why is proof of it and good science is directly and indirectly proving it.
*
Astrologers know and make sincere efforts to explain the bigger picture, yet there are ever attention seekers, either negative or positive, that confuse people with their misunderstanding of dynamic cyclic trends and excessively eventful thinking. Such is the attitude of an Astrology that is quickly becoming outdated. On the other hand, prediction of probabilities is very real with Astrology and with such insight we can more wisely exercise conscious choice and realize greater possibilities. Again, my brief article on the science of cycles from the link above will shed some more light on the subject. Of course major events do occur but these are always linked to major planetary conjunction, squares and oppositions. Incidentally, none of these will be particularly active on 12/21/2012. It is the convergence of greater cycles that is the particular focus of Mayan Astrology that is at play there. However, as my Science of Cycle article illustrates, we can look back to the beginning of the 2012 era (1980 -2016 - I align with John Major Jenkins on this perspective in large measure because the dynamic planetary activity since that time is a good reflection of it.) and earlier to gain a contextual picture of the history making events of our times. More immediately, it is the current aspects and those since 2008 in particular, and 2011 will be very eventful as will 2012 in general as that is the year that Uranus makes its first waxing square aspect to Pluto in Cardinal Signs. The official date for that is September 19, 2012 and the aspect will occur 7 more times between this date and 2016.

Of itself, this eclipse stems from a family of eclipses, a Saros Cycle, which is considered benign and even positive. The science of eclipses is quite sophisticated and is best understood as the Saros Cycle. Interestingly, our ancient ancestors were very well versed in their understanding and could predict them precisely – further evidence of advanced civilizations from ‘pre’, pre-history!

A simple explanation of the Saros Cycle is that there are 38 in all with half beginning at the South Pole and the other 19 at the North Pole. Further, each Saros Cycle contains 71-73 ‘events’ or Solar Eclipses over a span of 1300 years and consecutive eclipses from any given series only occurs about every 18 years! So, every Solar Eclipse in an 18 year period is from a different series or eclipse family. Lunar Eclipses are secondary to the Solar yet there is usually 1 and sometimes 2 or 1 either side of the Solar. Again, it is only one of many celestial events occurring at this time and the whole picture must be considered. This eclipse is part of Saros Series South 12, which means the New Moon conjunction occurred at the South Pole and it began on September 19 1541 at 8:45 pm GMT. If interested, HERE is that chart.

What is particular about this New Moon, Solar Eclipse chart pattern is the close alignments between Jupiter and Uranus in Aries, the Saturn in Opposition aspect in the final degree of Virgo, and Pluto at the apex of this T-Square formation. Beyond the super charged New Moon that the eclipse indicates, the more complete picture reveals a major additional charge coming from the whole chart perspective. The exact Square aspect from Jupiter to Pluto (which will continue for the entire cycle due to Jupiter slowing then turning retrograde on July 23) suggests that there will be a noticeable increase in the scope and pace of activity as people react and respond to the shifting sands of the world economy especially. Watch as people instinctively and intuitively make ‘moves’ of all kinds to meet the challenge. The sobering-up process after the World Cup may not be so pleasant for many. However, these changes are destined and we are wise to cooperate with them proactively then cry victim or cast blame.

The following are some key dates to watch for over the course of this Solar Eclipse seed lunation cycle. Especially dynamic are the last 10 days of July as you will see below. Please note, the dates and times given are exact yet ‘events’ stemming from or triggered by these close and hard planetary aspects can occur earlier or a little later due to the rich array of other contributing cyclic planetary patterns.

All times in PDT.

1. Wednesday July 21 at 8:09 am Saturn enters Libra (and it will remain there until October 2012 when it will enter Scorpio.) Saturn in Libra is actually well placed and a closer look at the two ingress charts, the first in October 2009, see HERE, and the other for July 21 HERE.

2. On Thursday the Sun enters Leo on July 22 at3:21 pm – ever a dramatic if fun time, in one way or another.

3. Jupiter Retrograde on Friday July 23 at 5:03 pm, just less than 2 hours after Uranus forms an auspicious trine aspect to the Sun in Leo. As mentioned above, expect the heat and drama to rise in both positive and not so positive ways as the economic stress pushes those determined ‘to win’ to compete harder than ever. Jupiter will be retrograde until November 18, 2010 - the SAME day that Venus also goes direct (after having been retrograde since October 8).

4. Saturday July 24 at 6:51 pm Jupiter will again form an exact square aspect to Pluto. This aspect has the effect of accelerating the pace and leading people to try to do too much at the same time. Take special note if your birthday falls a week or so before and especially after this date.

5. Monday July 26 at 10:05 am Saturn will form the now much heralded final Opposition with Uranus at 0 degrees of Libra and Aries respectively. This indicates major revolutionary action. The HST debate here in British Columbia is a prime example.

6. Tuesday July 27 Mercury enters its own sign of Virgo where it is fully able to bring critical analysis to the most complex of problems…and dry criticism. At best, Virgo is improvement oriented and at worst simply critical.

7. Thursday July 29 Mars enters Libra where it will remain until mid September. Mars is not so well placed in Libra and brings a more aggressive stance to otherwise harmony oriented and diplomatic Libra.

8. Then on Friday July 30 loess than 4 hours after Mercury forms a creative trine with Pluto lending to some really clear thinking backed by critical analysis, Mars will form a powerful and stressful opposition aspect to Uranus. This aspect can produce very dynamic and positive action, yet it can also be very aggressive.

9.
Saturday July 31 highlights Mars conjunct Saturn in Libra. Again this can prove to be a very auspicious aspect if it is used wisely and with awareness yet it can also prove to be quite aggressive even violent especially with both planets still in close Opposition to Uranus in Mars ruled Aries!!

10. On Tuesday August 3rd Jupiter will form another exact square aspect to Pluto, then by 9:20 pm will form an opposition aspect to Mars, and by 9:56 pm Mars will also square Pluto! Technically these 3 planets in close aspect form what's called a T-Square. With these planets being in Cardinal Signs and with Pluto - the planet of transformation at the apex point, (both Mars and Jupiter squaring Pluto), this basically implies a VERY powerful T-Square. This is yet another super-charged aspect that is bound to reveal synchronistic effects by way of transformational events around the world. What this stands to produce is pressures coming from society AND from governmental institutions, each asserting their respective positions on important matters (such as the economy and the environment). This final point is a message to us all that accountability begins with each and every one of us.

11. Finally beginning on Friday August 6th at 8:48 pm Venus will enter her own sign of Libra where she promotes harmony, cooperation, sharing, diplomacy, art and beauty. On Saturday July 7 Venus will form an opposition aspect to Uranus; like a referee breaking up any squabbles, or pushing and shoving matches that the Mars opposition is sure to stir. On Sunday August 8, Venus will oppose Saturn which is not such an easy task for ‘her’ at all. Yet, at least Venus will be in honour in her own sign where she is abo utas strong as she can be. The Gods are looking after us and do want success too!!

12. Monday August 8 at 8:08 pm is the next New Moon in Leo.

13. July 25th is a Day out of Time for you Dreamspell fans and July 26th is day one of the new year cycle. Red Overtone Moon (5 Muluc) is all about a purification journey in search of a healthier flow. tone 5 is all about empowerment of self and others. Notice the meaning of the word, empowerment, which is the opposaite of control. I like to say 'when we are weak we attemt to control and when we are powerful we are inspired and able to empower. That sounds like a good intention for this year to me! With Chicchan (the Serpent) as the Wave Spell or anchor theme we are reminded of the value and importance of undergoing changes consciously. This is the way to advance to the next level successfully with Chicchan. The guide is none other than Caban, the indication that there will be a journey and there is no if little guarantee that the road will be bumpy and unpredictable. This themes of this time and into 2011 are an apt reflections of the tone and theme of this day's message for the year.

How do you like that for one very dynamic, exciting and certainly eventful cycle?

Thank you for being here and I hope you enjoyed the insights I have assembled and written for you!

PS
This is my first anniversary for my New Moon Newsletter and it is my intention to continue to guide you along with Astrological insights and awareness over the course of these dynamic, exciting and turbulent times. This New Moon in Gemini on June 12, 2010 at 4:15 am PDT is packing some very powerful energy. Magical might be the best word with additional emphasis upon intelligence, ingenuity and genius. This is because Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct at 0 Aries and they are perhaps the main feature of the seed pattern of the New Moon chart. Astrology is the science of cycles and since cycles require the interaction of two planets, moons or suns in any combination, and since the cycles begin, mature, and return back to begin again, (like the New Moon itself), the universe can be seen to have an ‘organic nature pattern’ of a cosmic sort. This is an ancient understanding.

Before I tell you more, here are a few important announcements.

I am currently in Nelson BC and will be through to June 21st with a couple of days in Creston in between. I will then be back in Grand Forks on June 22-24, then Penticton until June 27 or so. I will be offering readings in person and slide show presentations in Grand Forks and Penticton.

This presentation is called "Astrology, Era 2012 and the Great Awakening".

I am also still taking appointments for phone readings and will be able to accommodate some prior to my return home and most of them after that. If you feel the need for insight right away, I will make every effort to accommodate you.
Looking down the road, I will be back in Victoria and Saltspring Island in early August. I will also be taking in person readings in Vancouver in mid August.

So, key moments like New Moon or a conjunction of any two planets or a special event like the beginning of a season are measured by Astrologers as key dates for which a chart can be cast and then interpreted, thus offering insights about trends and events. This is especially the case when several key cycles overlap in close proximities of time. That is the case now. This New Moon chart and the Summer Solstice chart are ‘hosting’ what in the larger backdrop are some very important and powerful planetary alignments. The sum total of these implies that we are at an important juncture and I am referring to the entire planet. Civilization as a whole is entering into yet another evolutionary turn in the road. As usual, these generally include a lot of drama. I go into more detail and offer direct links to the New Moon and summer Solstice charts below. First here is a quick synopsis in simple terms.

Given the global state of the environment, accountability is a big theme these days. As synchronicity has it, there are a series of major events stirring and/or coming to a boil. Not surprisingly, economic tremors and quakes continue to rumble. The current situations in the Gulf, France, Germany and other parts or Europe like Greece undergoing its economic crisis, are some examples. Here in Canada it is the HST and an unprecedented challenge to government authority imposing tax laws in a manipulative and undemocratic manner. The signatures of 15% of the voting public have been achieved by the committee of citizens that has assembled and organized its focus and efforts, and the count is increasing daily. This valiant group is determined to persevere until democracy is restored.

In the U.S. the BP Oil spill crisis is certainly a big and pivotal issue. As tragic as is this event, it has led to decisions to deflect and delay at least more off shore drilling. The process of changing the U.S. Medical system is perhaps the larger issue that reflects the economic/political/social revolution that the current chart patterns suggest.

In a nutshell, the New Moon chart hosts the Jupiter/Uranus seed at 0 Aries. I have written a lot about it over the past few months and if you would like to review what I wrote go HERE.
In simple terms it indicates a big revolution of some kind. Since it occurs at 0 Aries, it stands to have an all-encompassing effect. In other words, every sector of society in the world will feel its effects. Some of these will be obvious right now, at least the major lead-up themes, but when these two planets exchange energies again over the next 3.5 and 7 years when they will be in Opposition aspect, is when they will come to the greatest fruition. Yet, it is worth noting that Jupiter and Uranus will also form two more conjunctions first in September 2010 then early January 2011. This will produce a religious/spiritual revolution. I will bring more attention to this in future articles.

Another important aspect pattern in this chart is Mars in early Virgo forming an opposition aspect to Chiron and Neptune in Pisces and both are in Square aspect to Mercury in Gemini. This suggests that the events of late are very active on the airwaves and everyone is talking about this time with awareness that we are undergoing a major evolutionary change of our times, and our modern civilization. There is a lot more that can be said about this chart picture, but rest assured, it simply spells major revolution!

Now, I will offer a glimpse into the Summer Solstice chart to reveal its emphasis on the summer season as a whole.

Summer Solstice occurs exactly when the Sun enters Tropical Cancer. This year it is June 21, 2010 at 4:30 am PDT. In the wake of the New Moon in Gemini which contained the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction at 0 Aries in its seed packet, this Solstice has additional charge and spark in it. Like a New Moon chart, we can look to the planetary alignments at the exact moment of the New Moon to gain insights about some of the archetypal themes destined to play out this summer. Of course, not all summers are the same. With so many powerful planetary alignments poised to be activated this summer, this will undoubtedly prove to be an extra exciting 3 month period. Below is a description of the chart (link to view chart). The following explanation will include technical Astrological language, however, I encourage you to read on and simply take in the key themes. In it I offer a review of the biggest planetary alignments that are synchronized with our dramatic and exciting times of cultural change.

The Moon is waxing and on the Solstice it will be at the last degree of Libra - 29 degrees - a critical degree in Astrology, as is 0 degrees. Fortunately, the Moon is in trine aspect suggesting a harmonious flow, save for the critical degree which raises the bar to achieve balance, harmony, justice…, a healthy notch. With Venus, which rules Libra, in Leo we see an emphasis on true love and the love of truth. Further, Venus has no exact aspects to any other planet and so enters into a ‘wild card’ role; anything can happen! The exact trine between the Moon and Sun occurs 45 minutes later when the Moon enters Scorpio, the sign of transformation. This will activate Scorpio’s planetary ruler pair, Mars and Pluto, both of which are in Earth Signs – material affairs. Yet, the Sun in early Cancer is forming a 90 degree angle (square) to Jupiter and Uranus and by June 25th enters into a 180 degree angle (opposition) with Pluto in Capricorn. This produces an Aspect Pattern (picture of 3 or more planets); this pattern is called a T-Square. The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries is at the apex point. Naturally, this brings a significant focus to these two planets. All the planets are in Cardinal Signs, the signs that symbolize the ‘beginning’ of each season.

Aries, the first of the four Cardinal Signs, along with Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, is the sign of initiative, initiation, action, pioneering and new beginnings. Jupiter is big, expansive, exaggerated, risky, adventurous, principled, philosophical, ethical and, at worst, fanatical, due to powerful convictions. Truth, justice, freedom and rights are cornerstone themes. Uranus is the planet of surprises, and unexpected events. It is unique, unconventional, unusual, paradoxical, revolutionary and sudden. All the while with this powerful aspect pattern activated, Saturn is moving quickly and accelerating towards forming an exact opposition aspect (180) to Jupiter and Uranus. The aspect picture now becomes a Grand Square including these two and the Sun, Saturn and Pluto all in Cardinal signs.

I will close on a note on our times from a wide-angle lens, Numerological perspective. 2010 is a universal 3 year and Jupiter-ruled number 3 is about sensitivity, expression of feelings and expansion. Optimism, creativity, and free flow are other themes. At worst 3 indicates indecisiveness, depression, oversensitivity and excess. 2011 will be a four year. That is the number of the emperor in the Tarot and with this, the card symbolic of the architect of change and the revolutionary determination to challenge the status quo.

Yes 2010 is a big year and yet it is the build-up to the even bigger year of change - 2011. But this year is when the fuses will be ignited and the first battles of the major evolutionary juncture will begin.

Happy New Moon in Taurus!
I would like to initially extend a special welcome to my new subscribers and a special thanks to all of you who I met for the first time last month on my travels. The usual format for the newsletter includes links that are highlighted words in the text below. I invite you to follow them to learn more about the various topics they highlight. You will also see a link to the previous Newsletter each month so by following them you can gain access to many other articles of interest and/or to reflect back on any given time period over the course of the past year. You can begin by following the link in the above title to learn more about this New Moon seed. The theme of Taurus is an important one in our times and I explore some of the various persepctives related to Taurus as a point of departure to offer a constructively critical look at the general current state of affairs in the world called Taurus and the Signs of Our Times.

I will be travelling around the province again in June and this time will be visiting Nelson, Kaslo, Argenta, Creston, Castlegar, Rossland, Grand Forks and Penticton. Actually, my first stop will be Argenta where from June 11-13 I will be hosting a weekend workshop called Sacred Astrology. In this workshop participants will be given the opportunity to explore Astrology experientially. By way of visual presentations, guided visualizations, music, movement and Astro Drama, which is all about enacting the charts of participants using masks, costumes and props, brings Astrology to life! This approach to learning about and experiencing Astrology is educational, inspirational, imaginatively expansive, enriching, potentially healing and fun. I have decided to offer the weekend on a donation basis so if you have the time and are in the area and want to bring in the New Moon in Gemini in a fun and magical way, please contact Angele and Richard at Johnson’s Landing Retreat Center and I will look forward to meeting with you there. I will also be offering slide show presentations along the way in some of the locations mentioned. To learn more about where and when I will be there and/or to book a in-person reading with me please go HERE or visit Events on my site

I would love to be able to visit more of you in all the places that my subscribers live. Since the list includes people from several countries around the world that is not so realistic at least not in the short term. On my travels in addition to offering in-person Astrology/Numerology readings, I also offer Astrology workshops and slide show presentations. In alignment with the times and keeping up with the opportunities that computer technology provides, I am now offering webinars both for learning Astrology and for the presentations.

Doing it this way allows me to keep the costs low so for $80.00 you can enjoy a solid foundation in the language of Astrology and be able to make practical use of this knowledge on a regular daily basis. Learning to live in-tune with the Sun and Moon by way of watching their cycles is practical, spiritual and contributes to the healing of a world that has lost touch with nature. Since Astrology is a natural psychology, the more aware we are of how and why and that it works, the more in-tune and balanced we can become.

New Moon in Pisces - March 15, 2010

Current Moon Activity:

New Moon – March 15 – 2:01 pm PDT - 25 Pisces

Next Full Moon -March 29 - 7:25 pm PDT - 9 Libra

Next New Moon - April 14 - 5:29 am PDT - 24 Aries

Happy New Moon in Pisces everyone!

The beginning of spring twenty-ten is less that a week away. The official date and time is March 20 at 10:32 am PDT. Amidst a host of powerful aspects poised to align by late in the season, there is reason to believe that we will collectively achieve some victories on the larger scale of things this spring. Even amidst the dramas of the world and our increasing awareness of them at each instant, thanks to the WWW, this is a time of awakening and realization. There is little that can or will stop it, though there will be those who may try.

I am specifically referring to a collective rise in consciousness. Just look around and you will see that this is happening. If you do not notice it, I invite you to check out my Facebook Astrology Group. I offer various links to interesting networks of people who are actively awakening humanity to new and higher levels of awareness and consciousness. This is not a religion or religious movement, but it is spiritual. In other words, the focus is diverse and wide ranging and is less based on belief and more on awareness and inspiration. Some of it does pose challenges to our habitual ways of thinking and assumptions. Exposing oneself to new knowledge can require courage. Our ego mind is oriented to comfort, familiarity and security by reaction. Knowing this can help you to be aware if you reject new knowledge from this place. There are many voices and no one is more important than any other necessarily and there is therefore something for everyone. This is truly a time of awakening and expansion. The internet is the most obvious material source of this yet it is itself a synchronistic reflection of deeper realities.

The Astrological angle on it now shows that Neptune and Chiron at the later degrees of Aquarius is the main indicator of this. Don’t worry that you do not understand what this means. Unless you have studied Astrology and the layered meaning of the symbols, which is just like learning another language, admittedly, with a psychological and spiritual accent, it will remain foreign an perhaps intimidating. That is why after I indicate the ‘geek’ of the Astrology, I spell it out for you like so: The deeper story is that the healing theme stems from and reaches to the subconscious mind, yes both. Creation comes from both within and without. This is part of the awakening. The scientists have laid the new foundation for this ancient knowing.

By the way, Poseidon is Greek for the Roman Neptune. There is much more to Poseidon than the God of the oceans and seas. These outer manifestations represent the deeper realities of the oceans of consciousness. Like the oceans, there are many layers, levels and dimensions.

Dreams, illusions, the subconscious mind, ideals, imagination, fantasy, communion, compassion, and psychic weaving to achieve deep compassion are core themes linked to Neptune. Other themes for Neptune include the great dissolver, transcending the illusions of perception.

Negatively, excess escapism, denial, delusion and addiction are the challenges to overcome. We all have some of each. The god's are not prejudice; they are part of all of us.

The dissolving power of Neptune can certainly manifest as earthquakes and Tsunamis and other such disintegrations. What is magnitude to the archetypal powers? Our planet is but a tiny precious bubble in a cosmic ocean.

In its deepest reaches, Poseidon/Neptune is the collective mind that encompasses many dimensions. Many refer to it is unconscious, yet it is conscious and it is we who are unconscious to it. Endless infinite unity and divine consciousness is the deeper beauty of this truth. We may simply refer to it as unconditional love.

Further, Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius at 26 Pisces, the sign of the subconscious or the collective ‘unconscious’, is the indicator of this process. By summer, Uranus will have entered Aries and will be conjunct Jupiter. I spoke of this in my last two Newsletters and you can simply follow the link above to go back to it and the same in last months and so on. In short, it indicates a big and sudden surge forward and it is scheduled to occur this summer. Remain skeptical if you like and feel the need to but pay attention and you will soon see and the signs will become clearer throughout the Spring season.

I will add some more insights on this below. But for now, just want to outline the themes of this new Moon in Pisces for you:

This New Moon shows a close alignment of planets spanning Aquarius, Pisces and Aries. The overall energy patterns suggest a very imaginative seed theme. The geek: Mercury exactly conjunct Uranus in Pisces and Sun and Moon 1 degree prior and Neptune as the planet of highest degree in the chart indicates this – powerful Pisces theme. I will explain more about the overall picture below. but first, i will offer a peak at the more specific themes for each sign.

How anyone will experience the effects of the New moon or any aspect, depends on their chart. Basically for each sign, here is an outline:

Aries: Clearing debris from the subconscious. Pay attention to your moods, feelings, emotions, dreams. Aim to clear blocks and fears preventing confidence.

Taurus: Join groups, network, meet with friends. Expect a boost in your social life. Remind yourself and others that you are here and alive. Let your individuality shine.

Gemini: Some extra attention in your career, social status and reputation will come forth this lunar month. Interactions with authority figures is likely. Get productive!

Cancer: Higher minded perseptives will be stimulated this month. Philosophy, spirituality, foreign intersts & travel will gain special importance. See The Big Picture!

Leo: Some of the deeper aspects of life, like sex, death and taxes will gain your attention. Inheritances are possible now. Take an assertive approach. Big possibilities!

Virgo: Your relationships are about to undergo some changes. Your scope of connections is about to increase. Intend to face your fears, defeat enemies with love.

Libra: The health of your lifestyle linked to your work and vice versa will come into focus this month. Are you ready for a change? Break through to something new.

Scorpio: Your creativity will soar thanks to this New Moon. This is a good time to take a 'how to' workshop or to give one. Time for you to shine your light, brightly!

Sagittarius: Changes close to home will become evident now. It is time to make some changes here. You may have to push through resistance. New love is nearby...

Capricorn: Your curiousity will peak during this lunation cycle. You will feel extra passionate about everything. You will want to create beauty in your home as well.

Aquarius: A review of your values and priorities and sense of direction will occur this month. Assessing your financial picture will guide your decisions. Create more $.

Pisces: This is a pioneering time for you. Take the intiative to express yourself in new and dynamic ways. Your enthusiasm and charisma will be high. Get started!

So, looking back to the big picture again, the line up of planets from Aquarius to Aries with 4 planets within 1 degree of each other in Pisces is pretty dramatic.

Metaphorically speaking, the seas are hardly calm and Poseidon is stirring the waters excitedly. See an image of heaving seas and gusty winds with dramatic clouds ranging from dark grey to billowing steel blue and purple hues.

This impressive alignment of planets also points to a needed focus on healing of our collective awareness and thinking. Our imaginations can work for or against us. Conjured fears are the negative pole of imaginative thinking. Pluto in Capricorn and Squaring Saturn in Libra, symbolically link to the leaden skies and refer more pragmatically to the economic uncertainties. Venus in Aries and Mars in Leo lend a more playful image, like a colorful boat boldly and bravely riding the waves. Yet, Venus in opposition to Saturn and both Square Pluto lends a restrictive theme whereby confidence levels are lowered – tacking against the wind.

That Mars is Direct again after about 3 months of retrograde motion is worthy of mention. It is interesting that due to the slow turn from retrograde to direct, Mars has hovered at 0 Aries since March 1st and will finally move to 1 degree on March 22nd. You can choose to work with this Mars energy while it hovers at this degree. Interestingly, it will be especially auspicious on Spring day, and the day before and after because Mars will be forming an exact Trine Aspect to the Sun – very harmonious, inspirational, creative and fun. Tune-in to this energy pattern and gain a boost of energy and momentum. Given the stresses of the times, it will prove more valuable then ever.

Mars in our Birth Charts indicates action and style of expression. Mars acts upon the desires and relationship interactions (Venus), emotional reactions and instinctual responses (Moon), practical needs and orientations to balance (Earth), thoughts, ideas, perceptions and interpretations (Mercury) and our will and spirit to be (Sun).

Mars in Leo is athletic, heroic, dramatic and exciting. This will coincide with a rise in determination to achieve goals and ambitions. Sometimes the odds are against and we have to push and work harder than at others and this is one of those times. It is not a good time to be passive or resistant to the flow, now or ever, but perhaps especially now. Those who are in this state now may have experiences that serve to push them out of their complacency and/or denials. The presence of Uranus and Aquarius will activate strongly individualized responses. At worst, these could produce blatant selfishness while at best it will reflect brilliance and genius.

The Aquarius and Uranus ruled Tiger is the master of ceremonies this year. I painted a brief portrait of the Tiger last month so link back from this Newsletter at the top if you want to review it. I also wrote an article on the translation of Chinese and Western Astrology that will offer you even more angles of insight on the Tiger and on all the signs.

Pisces is the sign of the mystic and of communion with source and all, at its highest vibration. This includes having control over and making use of the imagination verses getting lost in it. Imagination positively used in this respect, engages in intentional aspiration to achieve a goal and includes visualization. This does not have to be elaborate and sensational. It could be, but beware of getting lost in the imagination realm. This is one of the greatest challenges for Pisces and this archetype is not limited to whether it is just your Sun or Moon sign. We can manifest things and love opportunities. Doing this in alignment with our deeper spiritual and evolutionary goals is wise. This is where Astrology can help a lot. When people say, “I know who I am”, I sometimes say, "I bet you don’t." In saying this I do not want to insult. In fact it is a compliment to the fact that we are more complex and sophisticated than we commonly realize. Astrology brings clarity to core themes and lessons of destiny and allows us to truly evolve amidst our participation in the game of life. This brings peace and fulfillment and loosens the grip of attachments which causes suffering. Siddhartha the Buddha did not say "have no desires". Rather keep them moderate and do not become attached to them.

In the bigger picture, true to the nature of Pisces, there is a mix of energies pulling people in different directions these days. On one hand are the escalating stresses of world affairs linked especially to the economy, steadily growing population and earth quakes. That 2010 is the year that all the children born in 1945 officially retire indicates that we will see a steady stream of baby boomers enter into retirement and this will bring its own economic stresses and a changing social demographic. Alternatively, there is the call to ascension, to rise in consciousness. Not everyone will be tuned-in and aware of this process. The 2012 Sun / Galactic Equator/Center Alignment, from the perspective of the Earth, are the main indicator of the ascension opportunity.

What I was saying throughout 2009 and previously as well regarding this time where the 2012 hovers ominously, is that it is the lead-up years initially when the real drama will occur. Afterwards and through until 2016 it will be a powerful square aspect between Uranus and Pluto. The root conjunction of this power house of revolutionary change was in 1965! Remember the 60’s? This could be a big thing in a positive sense spiritually, yet there is a darker theme as well. The dark side is reflected as the old order trying to maintain its grip of control and the power structures of the world, the monetary system in particular. Sadly, although it is commonly believed that the government prints the money, it is actually the privately owned banks. This is a deep root to this ‘secret’. The link on my Facebook group that leads you to the documentary site and the specific one called Magical Egypt will lead you to learn more about it. That one hints at the reality that there are ‘secrets’ being kept and that is why there are so many conspiracy theories, the secrets. What I love about Magical Egypt is the way its narrator, John Anthony West, reveals how the ancients were far more advanced than we have come to believe. This perspective leads us to review and even to rewrite our history and doing so is part of the awakening of our times. Think of it like a stone dropped into calm water. The ripples go out in all directions, right? So, the awakening of our times will not only change the way we envision the future, but also the way we interpret the past. There are other documentaries in there, many others, and while I would not call any of them absolute truth, collectively they stimulate awareness via high quality entertainments. Check it out!

That the roots of higher consciousness are ancient is one of the main features of this awakening. The world view of our ancient ancestors (us) was deeply reverent to nature and aspired to recognize, tune-in and emulate it. Among the more basic realizations was that of the fact that all life in the universe is cyclic. Yes, everything is in motion and the motion is cyclic and spirals because it is in motion and this is true from the cosmic to the molecular. The day, lunar month and year cycle are the more commonly known but there are many more and some are very long. The Precessional cycle of 26,000 years has gained a lot of attention over the last 20 years or so and especially the last 10 as it is directly linked to the end of the Mayan calendar. All advanced cultures that have systems of Astrology are aware of this cycle.

Although Western Astrology does recognize the 26,000 year Precessional Cycle, “The Great Year” according to Ptolemy, the alignment with the Galactic center was either lost, deeply buried and obscured or never was really a part of Western Astrology, but the way. Yet by synchronicity, the powerful alignment of planets tells its own story of change and transformation. On this note, it is worth considering that from the Mayan perspective, the 5125 year cycle that is about to end is what they refer to as a ‘world’. So, regarding that date and the Great Alignment with the Galactic Equator and Center, it is the "end of the world", the "world age", to be more precise. In Western Astrology the 26,000 year "Great Year" is divided into 4 seasons and 12 Great Months each adding up to an average of 2150 years or so. The seasons then would be approximately 6450 years. That would bring us back to about 4500 BC. Since we are currently at the dawn of the Age of Aquarius, by popular vote at least, that would have been about the beginning of the Age of Taurus. Interestingly, Egypt rose to prominence in that period and there and in India the bull was held to be very sacred. We also see the Scorpion, Lion and Human celebrated at that time. That is because the ancients were very aware of Astrology already. They new the cosmic date. Interestingly, that was a Fixed Age with Taurus at the central focus and now it is the Fixed Age of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus and Scorpio.

As has ever been true, Ascension is based on cultivating heart centeredness. This is the true "root" Chakra. The base Chakra, often referred to the root is the root of the earth, yet the Sun or Heart chakra is the root of spirit. We are spirit in essence and in our core root. Simply acknowledging this choosing to center in the heart is the key. Trust will lead you there and when centered this way, trust will increase. This represents an upward spiral. As this occurs, issues will arise. Accepting these with gratitude and patient determination to overcome them, as a priority, represents the attitude of a spiritual warrior. Judgmental attitudes towards self and others and other separation consciousness perspectives are overcome in this process. It is not about conquering the world or defeating one’s enemies or winning in the competitive arena, not to say these things do not have their place. It is about simply clearing your own energy field and strengthening your connection to your own source and to source consciousness in general. Whatever means you use to achieve this is fine, do it your way! Just remember that the means are not the truth. Such thinking will lead you back into judgment and separation.

The powerful transits that are set to occur starting as early as May and continuing all through September will certainly bring in their own mix of new energies. How these will influence us individually and collectively is relative to who we are and where we live. But everyone will at least bear witness to pivotal synchronistic events certain to occur this summer.

There are other factors and in particular I am referring to the advances in modern science. We have come to realize that not only is everything in the universe a form of energy, it is conscious. In other words, reality is consciousness made manifest in myriad ways. This can be hard for people to conceive. It is common for us to disbelieve what we cannot conceive. Our modern way of thinking is such that unless and until we prove something, it must not be true. Discovery, realization and awakening actually happen the other way around. The main point is, that as conscious beings, not only are we one with this consciousness made manifest, we too are conscious of it and we also co-create with it. This is the Great Awakening of our times.

The roots of this awakening go way back, to ancient times even. Yet, the Renaissance and then the scientific revolutions especially, which were something of revival of classical thinking where reason and logic was brought back into focus. The tricky part is that these have lead us to mystical understandings. Science has penetrated so deeply into matter using the light of reason and logic that it has transcended the limitations of both. In so doing, it is bring back the value of imagination, intuition and feeling. It is also giving credence to holistic consciousness. Penetrating to the deeper levels of the science of holism takes us down a metaphysical rabbit hole, as it were, yet we arrive at the same place as the findings and proof of science.

Yet both is the scientific community and more prevalent yet in society, this has yet to really take root. There are many leaders making valiant efforts to introduce and explain and establish this new paradigm of consciousness, yet it will take time. So there remain those who assert that creation stems from a fixed point in space and in time in the past. Although this linear model has been challenged, it persists. The challenge to it rests on a more mysterious, magical matrix. This perspective supports a more cyclic perspective on time and reality. Yet, the mechanistic and linear model perpetuates a Darwinian "survival of the fittest" mentality. Not only is this model of thinking limited in light of the new discoveries, it is a dangerous model in a world where we have access to powerfully destructive technologies.

It is our responsibility therefore, and we are challenged to tune-in to the new consciousness, the ascension. More than ever before, this challenge is one we all have to recognize and embrace. Leaving it to the few will no longer do. Never before in history does the prospects of apathy stand to create pain and suffering for everyone.

This is where Astrology makes important contributions. Now only does it work, but it also offers perspectives and useful insights that strike a balance between spiritual and practical. As a holistic science, Astrology actually addresses our mental, emotional, spiritual and physical lives. The main point is that it works on the basis of a holistic paradigm and in this respect actually offers its own form of "scientific" proof. The old model of science endeavored to take the person out of the experiment. Albert Einstein sparked a revolution by proving that this cannot be done to achieve objective truths, yet we still function with the same thinking. In other words, while some of the physical sciences certainly require strict precision, in the bigger equation and from a holistic perspective, we must re-introduce the person (people) into the equation. In so doing we must create from the standpoint of a more holistic perspective where emotional, intuitive and feeling human beings are given the priority of consideration that we are due.

This introduces a spiritual perspective and this is the basis of the ascension. In other words, creating with our science without this serving people directly is a reflection of an old model of science clashing with the needs of our modern world. Science has given us much and we can be grateful for that. But now it must meet with people on the level of humane consideration or we will use it to create a hell world for ourselves and others. A lot of science fiction movies have served to illustrate this negative possibility. There are many examples of how we have and are heading in that direction. Modern warfare, toxic waste, environmental decay and the subsequent extinction of precious species are examples. Yet, as we wake-up and open our heart and minds to learn new things and communicate and share our discoveries, a higher level of consciousness will emerge. However, knowledge alone is not enough. The awareness that will truly help us is that of our true nature which is spiritual.

This is the march of our times and of humanity. We have the opportunity to truly create a higher civilization yet it is we who are invited to do it and now is the time. Do not leave it to they and them; you do have a role to play, you do count. Honour your quality of being above your quantity. In so doing, you will increasingly honour that of others and so on. This is how love works and it invariably raises our vibration and this is how ascension works. It is all science, spiritual science that is and it is quite simple.

Astrology is a main tool of this science. It is certainly not the only one nor is it or any tool, the truth. Yet, it is a tool which when used well illustrates and in effect proves the deeper realities of our spiritual roots of creation. I invite you to take a closer look and experience it for yourself. Within just a few minutes of speaking with you about your Astrology, you will see that I can use it to see you, at an archetypal level. My interest in using this tool and in offering insights to my clients is to simply empower them to be more centered, aware, fulfilled and healthy in the whole sense of the word.

Thank you for being here!

Blessings!

New Moon in Aquarius - February 13, 2010

Current Moon Activity:

New Moon – February 13 – 6:51 pm PDT - 25 Aquarius 18

Next Full Moon - February 28 - 8:38 am PDT - 9 Virgo 59

Next New Moon - March 15 - 2:01 pm - 25 Pisces 10

Happy New Moon in Aquarius and Gung Hey Fat Choy or Happy New Year and happy Valentine’s Day! Wow, what a line-up. The Year of the Metal Tiger also known as the White Tiger begins at midnight tonight. The Aquarius New Moon each year determines the beginning of the New Year for the Chinese and other oriental countries that follow this system of Astrology. They may not actually acknowledge Aquarius as a sign as they have their own totems, but it corresponds that way in our calendar. So, in a strange sort of way, this can be seen to be the third New Year of 2010 with the first beginning at Winter Solstice and the second on January 1st and the New Moon in Aquarius or Chinese New Year. It makes me wonder if this 'co-incidence' of events does not actually hold an inner message that the Chinese culture is growing in influence.

Before I offer a more colorful picture of the Year of the Metal Tiger and an over view of the current cycle of the Moon, I would like to bring a few important announcements to your attention:

1) I will be in Bellingham at Wise Awakening on the weekend of February 26 – March 1 offering an Evening Presentation called The Great Awakening plus Personal Readings and a 1-Day workshop on Saturday on how to effectively read and follow an Astrology Calendar.

2) Starting Tuesday March 9 through to March 18, I am also offering the same workshop as above but instead of in one a 1-day class in person, as a 4 part Webinar that you can do from home, each part consisting of 90 minutes. The big advantage of the webinar is that you can study a bit between each class. By the time this accelerated course is over you will know how to read the language code of Astrology and make practical use of it. This is an excellent way to learn Astrology and may be all the Astrology knowledge you will ever want or need. (Learn More) or Register Now.

3) The Moon Cycle Club is building momentum and is a great means of working with your own personal Moon Cycle and can be successfully combined with the generic cycle of the Moon.

All Readings can be done in-person or by phone and are digitally recorded for you. A reading also makes a profound gift for someone you care about. Gift Certificates are also available.

Now back to the Tiger and the Moon…

The
Metal Tiger actually corresponds very well with the planetary line–up this year. The Tiger can basically be described as a passionate and daring adventurer, a vivacious and impulsive humanitarian and something of an unpredictable hell raiser. An arouser of emotions seeking attention, the Tiger can be reckless and impatient and therefore a disrupter of the peace often due to lofty ideals. Often a champion of the underdog and of bohemian temperament, the Tiger is often a very colorful and paradoxical performer. The translation of Chinese Astrology to Western Astrology shows the Tiger to have strong correspondences with Aquarius and Gemini in the solar calendar and Leo and Sagittarius in the lunar. Other words can and will be used to describe the dramatic events that will unfold this year but the basic themes of the Tiger do a pretty good general job. The Metal Element increases the passionate and aggressive tendencies. Problems will be tackled in direct and even radical ways… Impatience can definitely be an issue. Sudden, unpredictable, unorthodox and quite possibly over ambitious behavior is likely and we may see some of this as early as at the Full Moon in two weeks (which I briefly will outline below) but especially in the summer months of June through September. At worst a self-centered, competitive and rebellious vibe will be evident throughout the year. We may see some of this during the Winter Olympics.

As for the specifics of the New Moon in Aquarius (
see chart) some very interesting themes are presented. A line-up of planets in Aquarius including Mercury, Sun, Moon, Chiron and Neptune activate the themes of the sign quite strongly. Read more about Aquarius in general, and the current New Moon HERE. Aquarius is positively symbolic of sudden awakening, illumination, revolution, individuality and humanitiarian clubs, organizations and movements. This chart illustrates these positive themes. To learn more about Aquarius in general and at this time read more here.

The Venus/Jupiter conjunction will be even closer at the Full Moon. The culmination of the seed of a New Moon is always at the Full, for the short term which occurs 2 weeks later. Below I outline the alignments that will occur at the Full Moon. Given the otherwise revolutionary themes present especially linked to the Tiger, there is strong evidence that the potenstially selfish and audacious attitudes of the tiger, at worst, will be offset by a conscious and even spiritual air of humanism and unity. Sometimes these come about as a consequence of negativity and catastrophe etcetera and this may well occur again. Big changes are definietly brewing but may be exactly what we need to shift consciousness enough to break the collective trance of business as usual.

The Full Moon chart for February 28 2010 (see chart) also presents an auspicious planetary line-up worthy of mention. It includes a few auspicious and even rare alignments. First, the Sun will form an exact conjunction with Jupiter at 9 Pisces on February 28, just hours before the Full Moon in Virgo. This aspect confers a religious/spiritual/mystical energy pattern. Which one you tune into depends on how you are destined to relate to reality in general. In All cases, it can prove to be very uplifting and inspirational feeling of unity and communion. Yet, fanatical over- zealous attitudes are also possible so be aware… the tiger. Less than a day prior Mercury will conjunct Neptune and Chiron at 26 Aquarius. This rare triple conjunction will not occur again for centuries! Back in May of 2009 it was Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius and at the same degree. Generally, it also indicates a mystical union where high ideals, rich imagination and transcendent realizations, concepts and feelings are more available. Chiron’s presence in the mix implies a healing theme. At worst, it suggests over imagination and unrealistic ideals and fantastic notions that are too whimsical for appreciation. Delusions, denials and deceptions are also possible. That these are exactly conjunct the Moon in the Birth Chart of the United States may be seen to be reflected in Barack Obama’s attempt to create a more equitable and humane health system. Then on March 3rd Venus will conjunct Uranus at 26 Pisces. This union is generally considered very favorable for uplifting social events. Venus is exalted in Pisces and brings forth the full sweetness of this sign. Tune-in and embrace the fullness of this time for its best offerings.

Happy New Moon in Capricorn!

Can you feel the energy of the New Moon? If not, you can learn to tune-in. Doing so will increase your energy levels and health in general. Doing so is also reverently respectful of the celestial realities within which we exist and it can be fun too. Astrology helps us to tune into the wholeness of life. Whether through the readings I offer, or the online webinars or my visual presentations that will soon be presented online as well as the webinar, I can help you tune-in more fully to yourself, your life and destiny and to the deeper realities which are our source. (By the way, all the highlighted words and phrases below are links to articles that deepen and elaborate the themes presented.)
*
Blessings on this New Moon, it is in some respects the beginning of the year as it is the first New Moon after Winter Solstice.
*
This is actually a Solar Eclipse New Moon and occurs at 25 Capricorn 01 at 11:11 pm PST (see chart). Put simply, a Solar Eclipse is like a super charged New Moon. The seed it will sow is more powerful than the more common New Moon and is part of a larger family of eclipses called a Saros Cycle. (see chart) That this eclipse is occurring early in the year lends its own extra stamp on the entire year and, as mentioned, 2010 will prove to be very eventful. Solar Eclipses do occur twice a year on average, so they are not entirely rare. Yet, they do have a special significance and can be measured to reveal seeds that bring about more measurable changes. In the Horoscope for January 15, I offer insight on it and an overview for each sign. This will not prove to be as accurate as if you look at its effect in your own actual Birth Chart, but you should be able to notice it over the next few months anyway, especially if it aspects sensitive points in your chart. If it does, the changes with which it will synchronize will be life changing. Such is life and it is not about if change, but when change. Knowing when is a foundational feature of Astrology. So, in addition to empowering insights about our own core nature and character and our gifts and talents and our challenges and life lessons and the cycles that are active in your life now, Astrology also looks to what and how and where and who will likely be involved. Astrology provides insight and probable timing and themes that are destined to occur in our life. In this respect it is a map that shows the territory. Yet, it is also a clock, a calendar and weather forecaster.
*
I offer a variety of ways you can access this knowledge. It does not tell you what will certainly happen or even what you should do, but it can help you to better know what will probably occur and when and what you could do about it. In other words, it helps you to be more strategic in the game. Astrology and Numerology readings that I offer are the easiest and more common means for you to gain access to this knowledge and insight. The readings I offer are often done live over the phone. But I can also simply record my insights for you and I also take appointments at my home office. In all cases, the sessions are recorded for you.

Capricorn is a sign of practical and strategic intelligence. The image of the mountain goat climbing to greater heights is akin to each of us following our own path to success. Of course, there are many types and levels of success. Yet, as life offers many challenges, including among them competition from others, we all need help to make best use of our time, energy, and choices of action. What helps us make use of our practical intelligence is practical information and knowledge. Some of this refers to everyday events, activities, goals and dreams. Relationships are another area of obvious significance and Astrology can assist us to be true to our own nature, respectful of that of others and therefore authentic in our character and conduct verses simply slick and pleasing. There is a lot of that in society these days. The reasons are deep and complex, yet we can begin with our own life and relationships and character and conduct. Astrology can help you tune-in deeply and this itself brings clarity, confidence, even healing and peace. After all, how much do you think disease is a consequence of stress? It is sad but true that entire industries profit hugely from the fact that we are out of tune with ourselves, others and nature and consequently this causes stress. Conflict and confusion too emerge from our lack of inner attunement and it is a sad irony that modern society functions on dysfunction, even profits from it. Yet, can we really afford to do so much longer? We can hope and pray and visualize for peace and solutions to these problems. And we can also act deliberately with vision and intelligence and inner attunement, following our own path and truth and this is where Astrology can help measurably.
*
I also teach Astrology. I realize that not everyone is destined to become an Astrologer. However, I also realize that many find it fascinating and useful and spiritual too. Consequently, I have designed a webinar that allows me to easily reach you and you to easily reach me. Learning how to effectively read and follow an Astrology Calendar is an excellent way to go. In addition to learning the language code, you also get to make practical use of it. The second decade of the New Millennium has begun. The first one has certainly been eventful. The light has grown brighter, yet the dark has increased as well. Which is stronger is debatable but I will cast my vote to the light.
*
This year, Twenty-Ten will prove to be pivotal. The tide is turning and many are making sincere efforts to support a positive momentum where our similarities outweigh our differences. Yet, the problems we share are escalating daily as well. Every day millions of tons of emissions pollute the air and water. Peak oil remains a reality. World population increases daily. Plague, famine, war, natural disasters and pestilence I am sure. It sure does sound apocalyptic and I do want to keep it positive. Questions about what to do abound! There are answers coming in fast and furiously as well. Following through on these is another thing. Gratitude for life is actually a solution. Yet, so too is discipline. But what kind of discipline do we need? No one wants the government to make us do things. There are not many Gorbachev’s out there willing and able to yield and surrender their power, or are there? If there are, where are they? Do we go for more or less? Should we fight or pray or both and what else? Either way, it is time to act. Such is the tone of Capricorn and the complexities of our time.
*
With Pluto in Capricorn as of 2008 and until 2023, we will see givernments undergo a lot of changes. With focus and sincere efforts these will be to honour humanity as a whole and not simple succumb to the pressures ofm powerful elites and thier private interests. This is the challenge of our times. I have said before and will again for the benefit of new subscribers to my Newsletter, this millennium stands to usher in the wisdom of the feminine. We are collectively agreeing that it is 2010. Does anyone really know what time it is or the date? Not really or in any way that will help us socially. That it is 2010 may seem arbitrary, but it is the date we are using and agreeing upon and in this respect it has its own power. This can be difficult to appreciate unless one accepts the holism of life, which renders what we call hard reality to actually be much more fluid that we realize with our five senses.
*
In the Horoscope for the Year for 2010 I offer more insights into this paradoxical fact. What is most exciting about it is the fact we are co-creators of the reality that we are experiencing. This is true individually and collectively. This notion, supported by modern physics, neuroscience even advanced biology has actually re-introduced the qualitative factor back into reality. We may still use numbers for the sake of designations in society, yet we can no longer be reduced to quantities. There is more in this statement than it might seem. Not all of humanity has caught up to it or society’s structures, yet it is now a scientific fact. This is one of the more important lights that science has produced. How it will evolve and grow in the awareness of humanity is another question.
*
Yes, humanity has arrived at something of a stalemate in the game. On a more positive note, this is precisely what we need. The business as usual attitude must shift. The time has come to shift towards a new bottom line. One where people come before profits and the planet counts more than our selfish plans. The patterns in the charts measuring the planetary alignments suggest that this year is a major turning point and with our intentions we can help direct the outcome to the positives that we all desire.
*
Thank you for being here and many blessings in 2010!

Now, back to Current Events!

In the shorter term, we are on the eve experiencing a series of exciting if challenging planetary cycles. These include Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn starting on December 26, 2009 until January 15, 2010. Generally, this will stir insecurities in the market place. Because it is part of the New Year Chart, these insecurities may well continue throughout 2010. Each sign will experience the impact differently and the insight is that much clearer when one’s actual Natal Chart is considered.

Mars also is turning retrograde and it will occur on December 20th and will continue until March 10, 2010. Like Mercury, Mars turning retrograde is fairly common – about every 2 years. Mars is in and will remain in Leo for the duration and so will hover, so to speak in Leo until about June 8, 2010! Generally, Mars retrograde indicates lower energy levels overall or at least more noticeable fluctuating energy levels with highs occurring largely due to necessity. In other words, it tends to make people procrastinate. As with any planet retrograde, deciphering its impact is best done on a person to person basis. (see chart)

Some Astrologers assert that the annual alignment of the Sun with the Galactic Center offers its own influence for the year cycle that follows. As I review the past couple of years I would generally agree. What this years Sun/G.C. alignment poses as a challenge is the will and courage to create a new cultural attitude. Saturn in Libra implies new laws. Some of these may prove restrictive. People will complain and may even rebel. However, it would seem that necessity will provoke these changes. Pluto Square Saturn is a core feature of this theme.

Winter Solstice is another key event that many Astrologers will look to decipher the general themes of the coming year. This type of consideration is based on the perspective that such charts are seed events as well, just like conjunctions. This is valid because a New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are conjunct. This conjunction is the archetypal basis of seed events, from a cosmic perspective. A New Moon is fairly common, yet it does have a cosmic significance. This in turn has a psychological effect and influence on life on earth. Yes, the planets and the alignments of the planets represent archetypal principles. Archetypal means it is part of our very blue print. This is of course, the domain of metaphysics and is not so understood or appreciated by physicists and /or main stream science. In as much as Winter Solstice is symbolic of a New Moon itself and is the official natural New Year start date, we can look to it with confidence as well for deciphering the overall themes for the coming year.

What the Winter Solstice chart suggests is similar to the Sun/G.C. conjunction yet with an even more positive note yet. With the Moon closely conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius, this chart gives reason to believe that people will make efforts to contribute to the needed changes. I would imagine that many realize that we are privileged in our culture and that the larger issues of the world must be met with awareness and positivity and that is what this chart basically suggests. The rather strong Aquarian tone also indicates that there may be a measurable increase in metaphysical subjects. Astrology especially stands to experience an upsurge in popularity, and rightly so! On the other hand, Aquarius is also a revolutionary sign and we may well also experience revolutionary change. With the Sun in close alignment with Pluto this revolutionary tone stands to bring powerful leaders to the fore. Whether these will hold the interests of the larger in their ambitions is another story and the bag, as ever, is likely to be mixed.

Then, right on New Years Eve there will be a Total Lunar Eclipse. The date of this event is raising brows of curiosity and concern. People instinctively know that important celestial events on key dates signify change. Given the larger picture at this time, this one certainly does. Many people are referring to it as a Blue Moon. The phenomenon of a Blue Moon is not actually significant to most Astrologers. In other words, from the standpoint of Astrology, it does not offer special significance. Upon closer examination, this Moon is not technically a Blue Moon anyway. However, since this Lunar Eclipse will take place right at the turn of the New Year, it may well hold lasting significance beyond its usual measure. This is so because, like the preceding examples, the official New Year event can also be seen to carry its own imprint for the coming year. (see chart). In as much as this is true the picture is not so rosy. First of all, the moon is full in Cancer. This may well be considered the wildest and moodiest Full Moon of the year! Further, the overall chart is very challenging with virtually every planet in hard aspect save for Uranus forming a Sextile to Mercury and the North Node. If this chart holds the greatest weight in terms of what 2010 holds in store, then we really do have some work to do. Lunar Eclipses are usually more internal in their effect, so this one suggests a real likelihood that a lot of people will be doing some real soul searching as the New Year turns and prospectively throughout the year.

The Sagittarius New Moon will Activate the Jupiter, Chiron, Uranus Triple Conjunction

Now, in regards to this New Moon in Sagittarius, it will prove to activate the triple conjunction. I am referring to the stellium of Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius. This rare aspect is symbolic of a mass healing that is already underway. But please note that in Astrology, conjunctions are best understood as seed events. So, although we can expect some external synchronicities related to this three planet alignment, it is actually the beginning of the healing that it will bring. Interestingly, the alignment is close to exact conjunction with the Moon in the U.S. chart (Sibley). The H1N1 controversy is a reflection of this conjunction. There are many who believe that it is a money and power ploy that is actually leading to deaths. This reflects the sickness of attitude in the world where corrupt corporate interests jeopardize human lives for the sake of profit. This is an old story but this controversy is stirring anger and lack of confidence towards governments that turn a blind eye or who actually support such antics from the private sector.

As the ruling planet of Sagittarius, Jupiter’s influence is being strongly activated at this New Moon and will culminate at the Full Moon on the turn of the New Year. This will be the first activation of this kind since these ‘three wise ones’ (Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune are linked to our spiritual nature) formed the rare triple conjunction back in late spring this year. Jupiter is currently positioned at the exact midpoint between Chiron – the wounded healer – and Neptune, the planet symbolic of transcendence and dissolution of karma. (See chart)

The entire pantheon of current planetary alignments signifies measurable change.

Many of these will become much more apparent in 2010. The foundations of these are already here and have deep roots; yet significant new growth began in 2008 – the first 1 year of the New Millennium. The new U.S. government is a reflection of this change. Of course, change is the law. How any person, political state or region and so on will be affected by the changes reflected in the planetary cycles is relative. Generally, each case must be approached on its own ground. This is where personal readings offer people the deepest and most practically useful insight. Yet, sometimes the changes that are suggested will have enough strength of impact to influence people and nations collectively. There are strong indications that this is exactly the sort of change that we will all experience in 2010 and 2011 especially.

In the long term picture for 2010 there are many pivotal transits that indicate sudden and radical change. July and August of 2010 stand to be especially dramatic as Jupiter and Uranus closely aligned in Aries Oppose Saturn in Libra, and both of them Square Pluto. Much mention has been made about these powerful aspects and this time of change. Now it is here and we will soon experience its effects. The deeper story is and will continue through to 2023 is Pluto in Capricorn. (read more).

Pluto in Capricorn and now Saturn in Libra – both action and initiative oriented Cardinal sign. Pluto is about power and its main focus is about regeneration, transformation, purging and cleansing. With Pluto now with a new status as the first of a legion of Plutinos, due to the fact that it and its Moon Charon are now recognized to be a binary planetary system, we might begin to better assess its function. Pluto/Charon is a more accurate description of its unique quality and function. Whatever Pluto/Charon touches undergoes a process of purification. Like a good cleanser, it lifts the dirt to the surface to be clearer. Blisters and blemishes, rashes and other irruptions of toxins coming to the surface of the skin are traditionally linked to Pluto function in medical Astrology. Of course, medical Astrology is so ancient that the far planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were known… How the ancients knew about these is another story with at least diverging perspectives and both equally interesting.

Uranus will enter Aries, also enter a Cardinal Sign like Capricorn and Libra on May 27, 2010. By this time Jupiter will have raced through Pisces and will also enter Aries on July 6 at 6:00 am Greenwich time. (6:00 am is symbolically linked to Aries). By June 8 at 9:00 am Greenwich time, Jupiter will be in exact conjunction with Uranus and at 0 Aries. Zero Aries is simply the most important and powerful point in Astrology. Although a circle may fairly be said to be without beginning or end, if one were to draw a circle, it would begin somewhere, at some point. This is why 0 Aries is called the Aries Point and is understood among Astrologers who have a deep understanding of Astrology to be so powerful. That 0 Aries is symbolic of Spring Equinox which is the exact moment when the hours and day and night are equal. Since Astrology has so much to do with the sun’s actual light on our planet, it is worthy of utmost respect. There is much to say about 0 Aries, volumes. Suffice to say at this moment as the 6 am point it is also symbolic of due east and of the rising of the Sun above the horizon in the morning. Without going into too much detail, you might appreciate what this might imply in terms of synchronistic events that will occur in the world. (read more)

By about July 4th Jupiter will carry the seeds of the Uranus conjunction in Aries to form an exact opposition aspect.

Clearly, there is quite a lot happening right now as revealed by the planetary alignments.
