This New Moon in Gemini on June 12, 2010 at 4:15 am PDT is packing some very powerful energy. Magical might be the best word with additional emphasis upon intelligence, ingenuity and genius. This is because Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct at 0 Aries and they are perhaps the main feature of the seed pattern of the New Moon chart. Astrology is the science of cycles and since cycles require the interaction of two planets, moons or suns in any combination, and since the cycles begin, mature, and return back to begin again, (like the New Moon itself), the universe can be seen to have an ‘organic nature pattern’ of a cosmic sort. This is an ancient understanding.

Before I tell you more, here are a few important announcements.

I am currently in Nelson BC and will be through to June 21st with a couple of days in Creston in between. I will then be back in Grand Forks on June 22-24, then Penticton until June 27 or so. I will be offering readings in person and slide show presentations in Grand Forks and Penticton.

This presentation is called "Astrology, Era 2012 and the Great Awakening".

I am also still taking appointments for phone readings and will be able to accommodate some prior to my return home and most of them after that. If you feel the need for insight right away, I will make every effort to accommodate you.
Looking down the road, I will be back in Victoria and Saltspring Island in early August. I will also be taking in person readings in Vancouver in mid August.

So, key moments like New Moon or a conjunction of any two planets or a special event like the beginning of a season are measured by Astrologers as key dates for which a chart can be cast and then interpreted, thus offering insights about trends and events. This is especially the case when several key cycles overlap in close proximities of time. That is the case now. This New Moon chart and the Summer Solstice chart are ‘hosting’ what in the larger backdrop are some very important and powerful planetary alignments. The sum total of these implies that we are at an important juncture and I am referring to the entire planet. Civilization as a whole is entering into yet another evolutionary turn in the road. As usual, these generally include a lot of drama. I go into more detail and offer direct links to the New Moon and summer Solstice charts below. First here is a quick synopsis in simple terms.

Given the global state of the environment, accountability is a big theme these days. As synchronicity has it, there are a series of major events stirring and/or coming to a boil. Not surprisingly, economic tremors and quakes continue to rumble. The current situations in the Gulf, France, Germany and other parts or Europe like Greece undergoing its economic crisis, are some examples. Here in Canada it is the HST and an unprecedented challenge to government authority imposing tax laws in a manipulative and undemocratic manner. The signatures of 15% of the voting public have been achieved by the committee of citizens that has assembled and organized its focus and efforts, and the count is increasing daily. This valiant group is determined to persevere until democracy is restored.

In the U.S. the BP Oil spill crisis is certainly a big and pivotal issue. As tragic as is this event, it has led to decisions to deflect and delay at least more off shore drilling. The process of changing the U.S. Medical system is perhaps the larger issue that reflects the economic/political/social revolution that the current chart patterns suggest.

In a nutshell, the New Moon chart hosts the Jupiter/Uranus seed at 0 Aries. I have written a lot about it over the past few months and if you would like to review what I wrote go HERE.
In simple terms it indicates a big revolution of some kind. Since it occurs at 0 Aries, it stands to have an all-encompassing effect. In other words, every sector of society in the world will feel its effects. Some of these will be obvious right now, at least the major lead-up themes, but when these two planets exchange energies again over the next 3.5 and 7 years when they will be in Opposition aspect, is when they will come to the greatest fruition. Yet, it is worth noting that Jupiter and Uranus will also form two more conjunctions first in September 2010 then early January 2011. This will produce a religious/spiritual revolution. I will bring more attention to this in future articles.

Another important aspect pattern in this chart is Mars in early Virgo forming an opposition aspect to Chiron and Neptune in Pisces and both are in Square aspect to Mercury in Gemini. This suggests that the events of late are very active on the airwaves and everyone is talking about this time with awareness that we are undergoing a major evolutionary change of our times, and our modern civilization. There is a lot more that can be said about this chart picture, but rest assured, it simply spells major revolution!

Now, I will offer a glimpse into the Summer Solstice chart to reveal its emphasis on the summer season as a whole.

Summer Solstice occurs exactly when the Sun enters Tropical Cancer. This year it is June 21, 2010 at 4:30 am PDT. In the wake of the New Moon in Gemini which contained the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction at 0 Aries in its seed packet, this Solstice has additional charge and spark in it. Like a New Moon chart, we can look to the planetary alignments at the exact moment of the New Moon to gain insights about some of the archetypal themes destined to play out this summer. Of course, not all summers are the same. With so many powerful planetary alignments poised to be activated this summer, this will undoubtedly prove to be an extra exciting 3 month period. Below is a description of the chart (link to view chart). The following explanation will include technical Astrological language, however, I encourage you to read on and simply take in the key themes. In it I offer a review of the biggest planetary alignments that are synchronized with our dramatic and exciting times of cultural change.

The Moon is waxing and on the Solstice it will be at the last degree of Libra - 29 degrees - a critical degree in Astrology, as is 0 degrees. Fortunately, the Moon is in trine aspect suggesting a harmonious flow, save for the critical degree which raises the bar to achieve balance, harmony, justice…, a healthy notch. With Venus, which rules Libra, in Leo we see an emphasis on true love and the love of truth. Further, Venus has no exact aspects to any other planet and so enters into a ‘wild card’ role; anything can happen! The exact trine between the Moon and Sun occurs 45 minutes later when the Moon enters Scorpio, the sign of transformation. This will activate Scorpio’s planetary ruler pair, Mars and Pluto, both of which are in Earth Signs – material affairs. Yet, the Sun in early Cancer is forming a 90 degree angle (square) to Jupiter and Uranus and by June 25th enters into a 180 degree angle (opposition) with Pluto in Capricorn. This produces an Aspect Pattern (picture of 3 or more planets); this pattern is called a T-Square. The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries is at the apex point. Naturally, this brings a significant focus to these two planets. All the planets are in Cardinal Signs, the signs that symbolize the ‘beginning’ of each season.

Aries, the first of the four Cardinal Signs, along with Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, is the sign of initiative, initiation, action, pioneering and new beginnings. Jupiter is big, expansive, exaggerated, risky, adventurous, principled, philosophical, ethical and, at worst, fanatical, due to powerful convictions. Truth, justice, freedom and rights are cornerstone themes. Uranus is the planet of surprises, and unexpected events. It is unique, unconventional, unusual, paradoxical, revolutionary and sudden. All the while with this powerful aspect pattern activated, Saturn is moving quickly and accelerating towards forming an exact opposition aspect (180) to Jupiter and Uranus. The aspect picture now becomes a Grand Square including these two and the Sun, Saturn and Pluto all in Cardinal signs.

I will close on a note on our times from a wide-angle lens, Numerological perspective. 2010 is a universal 3 year and Jupiter-ruled number 3 is about sensitivity, expression of feelings and expansion. Optimism, creativity, and free flow are other themes. At worst 3 indicates indecisiveness, depression, oversensitivity and excess. 2011 will be a four year. That is the number of the emperor in the Tarot and with this, the card symbolic of the architect of change and the revolutionary determination to challenge the status quo.

Yes 2010 is a big year and yet it is the build-up to the even bigger year of change - 2011. But this year is when the fuses will be ignited and the first battles of the major evolutionary juncture will begin.
